Green Mountain Heart Healing Conversations

Welcome home to you.

About Me And My Practice

My name is Annie Searsburg. I am a therapeutic practitioner offering ongoing confidential, healing and transformative conversations on any issue a client may bring. Clients gain the opportunity to heal and transform through professional witnessing, a supportive relationship, and a nonjudgmental, steady presence in their lives.

I see clients from Vermont, offering accessible session hours (including at night and weekends, and multiple times a week) by phone and video. I also have the ability offer some in-person sit-and-talk or walk-and -talk sessions to clients within the Putney and Brattleboro VT area.

My work is informed by my training within the Antioch University New England PsyD program and the Masters Of Social Work program at the Smith College School For Social Work. I have provided psychotherapy in supervised settings for a decade. I also completed an advanced postgraduate fellowship with the Massachusetts Institute For Psychoanalysis.

My journey as a practitioner began in the world of rural, Indigenous, queer and Autistic liberation. During this time I apprenticed in traditional Indigenous ways of healing, which takes place through our relationship to land, culture and community.

I am also a birth doula, conscious of many parallels between birthwork and personal healing.

These services are not a substitute for mental health treatment.

My philosophy

During sessions I attend to whatever might arise for each client, at the client's own pace and time. I honor each client's multiplicity, irreducibility and uniqueness. Sessions serve as witnessing, listening and holding vessel through which transformations, revelations and healing and understanding might arise.

The work I offer is never templated, manualized or superficial. It is radical (from a Latin word meaning "root") in that it seeks to understand things at their roots. In the words of Gillian Welch, I attend to "How everything is slowly made | How slowly things made [you]." I believe that each client deserves this time and space.

I am constantly mindful of my own impact on every client and session. Healing conversations, to me, are as much about being a supportive presence as it is about getting out of a client's way. As your practitioner, I am committed to getting out of your way as you navigate the path home to you.
